In marine terms it is an instrument of iron or steel attached to a cable or a cadena.que is thrown to the bottom of the sea to immobilise a vessel. In architecture, it is one piece attached to the end of a strap to ensure a wall or frame element. It can also be a device that combines two elements of construction to prevent the collapse. In figurative terms an anchor is a burden or obstacle that prevents a person to act or take something out freely, without something to slow down it or out of the way.
